In such a tough economy, it's important to be able to identify these products, so you don't waste your time promoting (and paying listing fees) on items that will not make you any sales, and ultimately profits.
Although I sell many different products through several outlets, I concentrate on a specific set of items for my auction listings (because I pay listing and final selling value fees which cut deeply into my profits). Many trials and many errors led me to a greater understanding of what the American people and the rest of the world truly are willing to spend money on without hesitation.
Now, don't get me wrong. Although they don't hesitate to decide to "buy" these items, they surely do their homework to find the best price. And, I, as a seller need to know what price to sell these items at to beat my competition, but also make myself enough profit to make it worth my time. I have always been a firm believer that it is easier to sell 1,000 items that make you $1 profit/each than it is to sell 4 items to make $250 profit/each.
As we move into a new year and a new decade, trends are telling us many things about the consumers out there; but the most important thing is that they will buy certain items for themselves, their children and others "regardless" of even their own economic situation. The key is to know which item(s) never make the "I can't afford it" list, so you too can "cash in" on your share of the billions of dollars still spent every year on things people really don't need - they just WANT them!
As we continue into January (and throughout the rest of 2010), I will be showing you many different products that really are never affected by the economy. I will also be showing you how to market these items successfully and what sales techniques work and which ones don't.
Stick around... This could be your year to leave that old job you hate anyhow, and finally be able to work for yourself.
Happy New Year!
